Audio Interruptions

audioinbound

Moments were detected where the audio likely cut out or sounded choppy. These interruptions could be the sign of an unstable network connectivity or an overloaded device.

Description

When there are audio interruptions on an inbound audio stream, this means that the user has experienced gaps in audio which can make the conversation difficult to follow if at the same time the recipient was speaking.

What do we do here?

We check every audio inbound stream to detect if there is audio interruption by:

  1. Measuring for each interval if there is at least a noticeable interruption, meaning that totalInterruptionDuration has increased by more than 660ms
  2. As soon as we have found a noticeable interruption, we stop and report an observation for this incoming media stream
