High incoming media round trip time
inboundaudiovideonetwork
There’s high average round trip time on an incoming media stream.
Description
High round trip time is detrimental to the user experience since it adds latency and reduces the interactivity and flow of a conversation. In this case, an incoming media stream (audio or video) is exhibiting high round trip time (RTT).
The higher the round trip time, the less interactive the conversation is and the worse the user experience is bound to be.
What do we do here?
We check incoming audio and video media streams for their round trip time.
Here, we calculate the average round trip time on each media stream for the whole duration of the media stream.
If RTT is higher than 300ms, we mark this Observation.
Notes
- Not all WebRTC applications support the ability to measure RTT on in incoming media stream
