High other limitation
Video encoding was limited to lower bitrate due to bandwidth availability.
Description
WebRTC stats “complained” about the need to limit and lower the video encoder’s target bitrate.
Usually WebRTC would report limiting the bitrate due to network issues or CPU load. In this case, it decided to report that it limited bitrate due to some “other” reasons.
Having “other” appear as the limiting reason should be truly rare. If this is what you are experiencing, our suggestion is to dig deeper to figure out the root cause.
What do we do here?
When we notice limitations other than CPU load or bandwidth availability enforced on the video encoder for more than 2% percent we mark this as an Observation.
